Even eating "happy" animals that have been grown with more compassionate surroundings, free range and grass fed, still have to be slaughtered and butchered.

Read my other post: http://carlosrull.com/2011/10/...

Paul McCartney narrates the documentary "If Slaughterhouses Had Glass Walls, Everyone Would Be Vegetarian". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...
Animals still raised as a commodity for food, is still economically wasteful and a bad for the environment. The meat industry is very powerful and will find ways to keep you eating meat, even by promoting the grass-fed free-range answer. Fact is, grass fed cattle are the ones who are super healthy because they are vegetarian!!!! They are getting that wonderful "liquid sunshine" first hand... meat eaters are getting it secondhand! And via a very wasteful system!Anyway, thanks for the Paleo promo, but when I wrote that I was coming around full-circle I meant it, and hope that people will respect my decision to be a vegan. And respect my love for animals... all animals!

Re: A Raw Veganist: Coming Back Full Circle

Well, I think you are definitely benefiting from eating healthy vegetables as opposed to unhealthy animals. Of course, the distinction would be to eat healthy organically raised animals that eat their natural food, as well as organic vegetables. Humans have a 200,000+ year history of thriving by eating animals and wild vegetables. The onset of health problems came around 12,000 bc with the processing of grains. No culture has thrived that didn't eat animals. There are important nutrients that humans need that can only come from eating animals, one being B12. The modern vegan lifestyle is a luxury and fairy tale, because if you had to survive in the wild eating just plants you would starve or develop malnutrition - probably both. B12 tablets don't grow on trees!
Glad you're feeling better, but I encourage you to do research. Don't eat anything that comes out of a box or is advertised on tv. Eat only organic grass fed beef and pasture raised animals, and organic plants. Limit your carbs to 150 grams a day or less. Avoid grain, potatoes, beans.
Best of luck in your endeavor!

Crazy Trumpet Man

Re: Flickr-ations: Some of my Best Photos on Flickr.com

the post was updated....

Re: Facebook Timeline: Another Look at What’s to Come…

I have to admit, it was quite involved... there should be 1 button to preview the new layout, and monitor if people are really switching to the new layout or staying with the current one.

Re: Facebook Timeline: Another Look at What’s to Come…

I saw links on how to set it up, but I was just too lazy to do so. The song talks about the dismantling of the Minas-Bahia railroad. Its final destination was Ponta de Areia near Caravelas in southern Bahia. Info here: http://pt.m.wikipedia.org/wiki...

To give some insight on the song, Milton and Fernando were very the prime musicians from Minas Gerais at a time where most popular music came elsewhere. Thus they were pretty important and formed an informal group and movement called Clube da Esquina.
Trains and railroads were always something very important to the state, so thuggery were a big part of the culture. At the time the song eras written, railroads in general and that one in particular were dying and with them an important of the culture of Minas, thus the melancholic tone and lyric.
Hope this is helpful :-)
Re: Somewhat of a Hiatus… and Burn Out…

Thanks for chimin' in, Manny! And yet, I find her lyrical enunciation PRISTINE. It is one of the many, many eloquent, and immensely pleasing things about JE and her talent. So many singers trail off and do not completely enunciate their songs' lyrics. Listen to JE on Silent Night. She's profoundly enunciate in it. And, at age 10/11 to pick up Italian enunciation as well as she has (I have to quote more experienced classical cross and opera fans on that) is clearly impressive. Admittedly, and I speak French, she was challenged with Imaginer on her CD. David Foster was stretching her there. Seems as though she's always up to a challenge!
